The Doris Day Show is definitely copyrighted, as Doris herself oversaw the production of the DVD sets. 4 of the 5 seasons of her sitcom's episodes are on DVD, and all but 1 of those episodes are available for free downloading on the GUBA.com website. No torrent files, just direct downloads. Do a Search on GUBA for "The Doris Day Show" and you'll find them all there on multiple screens.

As for Dinah Shore and other shows, how do we know if they are public domain or not? I'd be interested to see her 1970s daytime talk show again.

You can Check the US copyright office website.

EDIT: I just checked and the pre-1978 episodes of "Dinah!" are PD.
